Knotted Openwork Baby Hat
Looking like a field of wild flowers, this baby hat is not knit in the round. It starts with a picot cast-on.

The beanie is knit in the round in stockinette stitch, but you could also knit it on straight needles and seam the hat. Just remember that to do stockinette stitch in the round you just knit every row; if not knit in the round, you alternate one knit row with one purl row. The I-cord top knot is optional.
