Intermediate Knitters
Finished Size: approx. 7.25˝ wide and 65˝ long
Materials: Misti International Royal Baby Alpaca (50 grams/109 yds) 3 balls color 3740 Light Blue (A) and 2 balls color 302 Chestnut (B); US 5 (3.75mm) needle
Gauge: 6 sts = 1˝ over pattern stitch on US 5 needle or size to get gauge

Instructions:
With US 5 needle cast on 180 sts with color A.
Ruffle Row 1: K2tog to end of row (90 sts).
Ruffle Row 2: P2tog to end of row (45 sts).
Begin main scarf pattern.
Row 1 (RS): Knit.
Row 2 (WS) and all even numbered rows: Purl.
Row 3: K2, *p1, k1, rep from * to last three sts, p1, k2.
Row5: K2, p1, k3, *k2tog, yo, k1, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k2, rep from * to last four sts, k1, p1, k2.
Row 7: K2, p1, k2, *k2tog, yo, k3, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, rep from * to last five sts, k2, p1, k2.
Row 8: Purl.
Rep rows 5 – 8 with color A until piece measures approx. 16˝ from beg edge ending with row 8.
*Change to color B and work rows 5 – 8 three times.
Change to color A and work rows 5 – 8 one time*.
Rep from * two times more, carrying B up the side. Cut and join in A when necessary.
Change to color B and work rows 5 – 8 for approx. 19˝, ending with row 8.
*Change to color A and work rows 5 – 8 one time.
Change to color B and work rows 5 – 8 three times*.
Rep from * two times more, carrying B up the side. Cut and join in A when necessary.
Change to color A and work rows 5 – 8 until piece measures approx. 15.75˝ ending with row 8.
Work Row 3 once.
Work Row 2 once.
Ruffle Row 1: Increase 1 st in every st by knitting into the back and front (90 sts).
Ruffle Row 2: Increase 1 st in every st by knitting into the back and front (180 sts).
Bind off all sts.
Darn in all ends and block sides of scarf.
