Beginning Knitters
Finished size: approx. 4.5˝ wide and 28˝ long
Materials: 1 ball Jacques Cartier 100% vicuna yarn (217 yards/1 oz) or 1 ball Jacques Cartier 50% vicuna and 50% merino wool (217 yards/1 oz); US 4 (3.5mm) needle
Gauge: 11.25 stitches = 1˝ over pattern stitch (not stretched) on US 4 needle or size to get gauge
Note: The pattern stitch is reversible. The pattern multiple is 4 plus 3.
Instructions:
With US 4 needle cast on 51 sts.
Row1: K3, *sl 1 wyif, k3, rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: K1, *sl 1 wyif, K3, rep from * to last two sts, end sl 1, k1.
Repeat these two rows for the pattern.
Work until there is enough yarn to bind off all stitches in pattern.
Block slightly.
